Day 71: New Radiohead Album! IN TEN DAYS!!!!!!!
This morning I woke up and get an email from Jim C. who has offered to put me up for the evening. I shipped off a package to Allison which effectively lightened my load by 5lbs, got breakfast and then rode in the rain to Kalispell; a very short ride.

I rode around town for a while; a cute town that has grown somewhat bloated. I see a carload of Mormon Missionaries. A Mega Thrift Store looks impressive, but I really don't need to be acquiring more stuff. Stop at a coffee shop, get a hot cider and check the weather. It's looking bad for tomorrow. Rain lots of it, all day. Chinese Buffet.
Then head over to Jim's house at 4pm. Jim is a super nice guy; the epitome of laid-back. He has plans for the evening, so I'm gonna be flying solo.
I am sitting in Jim's living room, rearranging my panniers now that I have removed all of my camping gear. I have to admit I'm a bit sad to be giving up the idea that I can camp my way across Washington. The forecast for the next 2 weeks is rain lots of it, broken up by a few days of thunderstorms. The temperature is supposed to hover in the low 30's every night, and I just doubt I'd camp more than 1 or 2 of the next 12 days so I think it would be worth It to get rid of the extra weight but I guess I'm having separation anxiety. It's so frustrating being this close to the coast, and dealing with this much foul weather. So close. So close.
But let us move on to the big news I'm sure that you read all about it while performing your daily check-in at Radiohead.com: Radiohead's 7th album will be released via download on October 10th. This has been 4 years in the waiting, and you can rest assured I will do whatever it takes to be near the internet the very second this album gets released. I remember exactly where I was with the release/leak of the last 3 albums. So I guess I'm pretty happy that 'In Rainbows' is being released while I am on the road. Riding a bike through the Cascades will be a great way to get familiar with the album. This is a big deal for me. I've got a great feeling about this album. I cannot help from smiling like an idiot all day.
I stay up really late eating junk food and watching Law and Order. The weather report for tomorrow is still pretty terrible. I think I'll take Jim up on his offer to stay an extra day. Wednesday is supposed to be pretty mild.
10 Days until In Rainbows!

Your pictures are spectacular. Please be careful in the bad weather. Loves, Mom
ok, ok. I give in. I can feign knowledge no longer. What are these 'panniers' you speak of?
The bags on the sides of the bike.
