Day -3: O'Pioneers

Did you know that July 24th is PIONEER DAY in the state of Utah. It's an official holiday that commemorates the day that the LDS settlers first entered the Salt Lake Valley. It's also the same day that I am beginning my own trip out west... just 160 years later. Much like my ancestors, I wish i had more prep time.... ... ... or rather... ... unlike my ancestors, I had plenty of prep time but spent all of it watching THE SOUP on E!

Either way.... Come Tuesday, we both will have hit the road despite our plans being a bit slapdash, and maybe slightly underprepared. Worked out well for them though... although they did have the added benefit of being looked over by a miraculous army of seagulls. I most likely won't have that luxury, but I am confident nonetheless.
